Weather permitting, the gallery exterior is being painted next week. Our sign will be down for a couple of days but rest assured, we are OPEN!

After much deliberation we have chosen Mylands paint and their colours Indian Lake for the masonry and Bond Street for the windows and door.

Margaret Morris - Spring Fringe

Jill took part in a 'Spring Fringe' event during Spring Fling with her Margaret Morris Movement teacher Sara Lockwood. The event took place at Waulkmill. A beautiful setting for the dance. Sara Lockwood choreographed the dance to the song 'Aye Waukin O' by Robert Burns recorded by Eddie Reader.

The audience was small but very appreciative and a workshop followed. The evening was made a resounding success by the wonderful hospitality of hosts John and Lois Crallan.

Spring Fling Weekend

We are getting ready for a busy time in the gallery as we are hosting Leo's Studio 26 during the Spring Fling Weekend.

Leo Blamire is an oil painter and screen printer. Expect to see paintings of subjects including Whippets, Cacti, Bumble Bees and Chairs...

The gallery is also showcasing the award winning work of Glasgow painters Patricia Cain and Sam Cartman. Their work is often concerned with architectural themes. Every time we exhibit their paintings we love the dynamic energy they bring to the gallery.

The gallery is open 10 am to 6 pm all Bank Holiday Weekend including Sunday.

Chagall: Modern Master @ Tate Liverpool

I am so excited about this forthcoming exhibition at Tate Liverpool, which will run from 8 June – 6 October 2013. Over sixty paintings are going to be on show including one of my favourite paintings, The Poet Reclining.

Felling Trees

The gallery garden got more than a bit of a prune last month. Some mature trees were encroaching into neighbours' gardens and getting rather too large for the space.

Luckily, in spite of the tree felling, the garden hasn't lost its magical qualities. There is breathing space now for the lovely trees that are left.

An added bonus is we won't be short of logs for our fires and wood burner at home!
